About Little Saturday Room


Little Saturday Room is an independent community library located in Aljunied. It is free to come in, browse our shelves, and sit to enjoy a book. There is no Wi-Fi or charging points available within the library.
Membership is required for those who wish to borrow the books out from the library, or to make use of our music-playing devices.We are open everyday 12-9pm, except for Tue & Thu (closed).For any enquiries, please email [email protected]-------------------------------------Little Saturday Room features:- Over 90 shelves for books, music, and other physical media

Become a Little Saturday Room Friend (Membership)


What are the perks of becoming a Friend?
A Little Saturday Friend can:
- borrow up to 4 books for a period of 21 calendar days;
- enjoy the use of our listening devices (turntables, discman & walkman) and analogue music formats within the space.
How much are the membership fees?
Adult = $45.00 for 1 year
Student = $25.00 for 1 year
If I'm unable to return the books on time, am I able to renew my loan?
You are able to extend your loan once, for a period of 14 days.
Are there any fines for overdue items?
No, however you will have to return any overdue items before being able to borrow new books.
What if I lose or damage a library item?
You may either replace the item or pay a fee to the owner, depending on the type of media:
Vinyl = $20.00
Book = $10.00
CD = $5.00
When does my membership start?
Membership is valid from the day you register. Members who sign up by 31 July 2026 will enjoy a complimentary 13th month.

Become a Little Saturday Room Fellow (Bookshelf)


What can I place on my shelf?
We welcome most forms of physical media including but not limited to books, zines, magazines, CDs, and cassette tapes. Vinyl records are also welcome – these will be placed on a communal vinyl shelf.
You may choose to change the selection of items on your shelf at any time. While Little Saturday Room does not place any limitation on content, we may request Fellows to remove any media that we consider at odds with our ethos.

What are the perks of being a Fellow?
Fellows enjoy all the perks of a Friend for 2x the duration of their adoption term. That means if you adopt a shelf for 6 months, you will only need to renew your membership as a Friend a year later.
Fellows may also propose to run an activity for the community within the space. Approved activities will receive an honorarium of SGD 80.00.

Can I share books on my shelf for in-space browsing only?
Yes, you can opt to label your books for browsing only.

Can I adopt a shelf with my friends?
We place no limitations on the number of people that may contribute to a shelf. However one shelf can only be registered to max. 2 people with each person receiving the perks of a Fellow.

How much does it cost to adopt a shelf?
We offer two adoption terms:
6 months @ $360.00 (or $2.77/day) Early Bird Rate til 31 July: $325.00
12 months @ $625.00 (or $2.50/day) Early Bird Rate til 31 July: $550.00
*per day rate excludes Little Saturday Room’s 2 closure days.

What if my item is lost/badly damaged?
Due to the nature of physical media and its susceptibility to wear & tear due to time and handling, please only share your items with us if you are willing to accept that there is a risk of it getting damaged.
In the event that your item is lost or badly damaged by a Friend or visitor, Little Saturday Room will facilitate the replacement of the item or compensation fee by them to you:Vinyl = $20.00
Book = $10.00
CD = $5.00
Cassette = $2.00

For music lovers who wish to share their audio collection without adopting a full shelf.
What are the perks of becoming a Music Fellow?
LSR Music Fellows enjoy all the perks of a Friend for a year.
LSR Friends may borrow up to 4 books for a period of 21 days. Audio media such as vinyls, CDs and cassette tapes can be enjoyed within Little Saturday Room with our music playing devices.Music Fellows can also rent the space at special rates for private events, and are eligible to receive an honorarium fee to help offset costs if they run an approved activity for the community within the space.What is the length of an adoption term?
Each adoption term is for one year.
Am I adopting a whole shelf?
No. You will be adopting a crate or rack that will be placed on a shared shelf.
How many items can fit in one crate/rack?
Cassette Rack: Up to 10 tapes
CD Rack: Up to 10 single albums
Vinyl Crate: Up to 20 records
How much are the adoption fees?
Cassette Rack: $100.00/year
CD Rack: $100.00/year
Vinyl Crate: $150.00/year
Can I decorate my rack/crate?
Yes, but please keep in mind that you will be required to restore it to its original condition at the end of your adoption term.
Can I opt to let members borrow the records from my crate/rack?
As we consider audio records to be more fragile than books, we currently do not allow for tapes/CDs/vinyls to be loaned out. Your records can be enjoyed within Little Saturday Room only.
Can I sell the records that I place in my crate/rack?
Yes, you can indicate which records you wish to put up for sale.
How does Little Saturday Room keep track of my items?
Each Fellow will be responsible for keeping record of all items that they place with LSR using our online cataloguing system. Fellows will receive step-by-step instructions via email on how to access and navigate the system. It's easy to get the hang of it -- we promise!

Rent our spaces


Little Saturday Room occupies a unit measuring approximately 645 sq ft (including shelves). The area is segmented by a partition wall, behind which is a blank creative space (point zero) available to rent separately.
The main library area can comfortably accommodate 30 pax and is suitable for talks, presentations, workshops, social gatherings and small parties. Please see below for the list of amenities available with booking this space.point zero is suitable for small workshops, meetings, or exhibitions and can seat about 10 pax depending on the configuration. Please note that there is a gap between the partition and ceiling and that this space does not come with a door. Any discussion or activities taking place within this space will be audible to visitors seated in the main library. Support our work


Little Saturday Room is a completely self-funded and independently-run library. We rely on shelf adoption, membership subscriptions, and space rental to keep the lights on. Deeply inspired by Casual Poet Library in Queenstown, we are doing this because we believe in the power of shared community: "I am, because we are."
